As an Engineer for Network Performance at Vodafone you’ll be responsible for providing insight and service improvement initiatives across multiple network domains and drive continuous improvement in our  network performance and therefore ensure the best customer experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

    • analysis of quality parameters based on performance counters,
    • monitoring of quality improvement measures,
    • evaluation of network changes and their impact on KPIs
    • utilizing innovative methods and best-in-class tools and applications to measure the network performance and customer experience impact.
    • preparation of weekly, monthly and on request reports on GSM/UTRAN/LTE network performance and capacity utilization trending (medium to long term), including analysis on trend degradation and root cause for major trend changes.
    • using performance data to formulate proposals for GSM/UTRAN/LTE network monitoring (OSS) capacity upgrade.
    • correlate drive test data and cell/user signaling trace data to GSM/UTRAN/LTE performance data for network issue troubleshooting and analysis.
    • GSM/UTRAN/LTE network KPI definition maintenance.  Verify GSM/UTRAN/LTE network KPI changes from network element software upgrade.
    • preparation, evaluation and management of GSM/UTRAN/LTE network performance and optimization tools requirements.
    • management and enhancement of GSM/UTRAN/LTE network performance monitoring tools, including improvement of performance data collection, identify new performance indicators and improvement in parameter checking techniques.

 

You will be also accountable to ensure that KPIs used are a true reflection of network performance and user experience and that there is a single aligned version of measures across all technology domains.

Desired Skills & Experience include:

 

Studies:

  • Degree in Telecommunication Engineering or related field (Electronics and Telecommunication Faculty, Faculty of Automatic Control and Computer Science, Cybernetics, Informatics) with experience in DB and telecommunication network environment.

Technical knowledge:

  • Knowledge of SQL, Oracle, Business Objects, VB, MS Access and MS Excel are essential.  Experience using performance management tools (eg. Optima) and QOS, Traffic Engineering  would be preferable
  • Experience working with Huawei, Ericsson, Bosch, Marconi, Siemens, GSM/UTRAN/LTE data bases or network equipment would be a plus
  • The ability to challenge across all domains in mobile networks – Core, Transmission, Radio, Data
  • Proficient in writing both concise and detailed clear report in both MS Word and PowerPoint.

Language:

  • Good knowledge of the English language.
  • German language is a plus

Other:

  • Proven ability to impact and influence at a senior level is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal and team working skills with demonstrable team leading skills (involvement in technical projects and programs)
